Comments

Named after the French naturalist Jean Victoire Audoin, it is still a rare bird, with 10 000 pairs (recovering from the 1000 pairs estimated in 1960). It is strictly pelagic or coastal, feeding on fish and nesting colonially on small islands. Note the red bill, the string of "pearls" at wing tips, and dark grey or greenish legs.
